⁴ Some of those present said to one another indignantly, “Why was this ointment wasted in such a manner? ⁵ It could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii,^[a] with the money given to the poor.” And they began to rebuke her sharply.

⁶ However, Jesus said, “Let her alone! Why are you bothering her? She has performed a good action toward me.
